Playing Pick 3 simply requires you to select three numbers from 0 to 9, but there are a few decisions to make and various play styles, so you can try to predict the winning numbers in the exact order they are drawn, or any order.
You can fill out a Pick 3 playslip at any Texas Lottery retailer, or play on the Texas Lottery app. Follow the steps below to take part.
There are several different ways to play Pick 3. The style you choose determines the combination of numbers you can pick, your chances of winning and the prizes that are available.
Pick three numbers from 0 to 9. You can select your own or request a Quick Pick from the retailer. If you choose the ‘QP’ option, a random set will be generated on your behalf.
Decide whether to add the Fireball feature to your play. This allows you to replace any of the drawn numbers with the Fireball number that is selected afterwards, boosting your chances of a win.
Specify which draw(s) you want to enter – Morning, Day, Evening or Night. It is possible to play up to 24 consecutive drawings by marking the appropriate box in the ‘Multi-Draw’ section.
You can choose how much to wager per play - $0.50 or $1. If you pay a dollar and win, the prize is double the amount of a $0.50 play.
Pay for your entries before the cut-off time for the relevant draw - 9:50 a.m. (Morning), 12:17 p.m. (Day), 5:50 p.m. (Evening) or 10:02 p.m. (Night). The total cost is your play amount multiplied by the number of draws. Adding Fireball also doubles the cost.
To win a Pick 3 prize, you have to match the three winning numbers as required by your play style. For example, if you have chosen the ‘Any Order’ option, your numbers do not need to be in the same positions as the winning numbers, but if you have selected the ‘Exact Order’ play type, they need to be in the correct places. There are no prizes for matching one or two of the three winning numbers, although adding the Fireball does help to create more winning combinations. Go to the Prizes page to find out the payouts that are available for each play style.
